UK - DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY - 2-4 DECEMBER 2014

The university covered the topic of "Democratisation and Reform in the EU" but also the policy making reality within the European Parliament and how MEPs engage with lobbyists or NGOs.

BULGARIA - AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN BULGARIA - 12-15 NOVEMBER 2014

The university asked for a MEP used to the work of lobbyist in the European Parliament for a conference on "The impact of lobbying on the European Parliament's legislative process".

BULGARIA - UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS VARNA - 29-30 OCTOBER 2014

The university organised a conference on "Food safety in the global economy" as a way to introduce the theoretical contributions related to the actual problems and solutions of the EC on that topic.

"My impression was that there was a positive mood towards more cooperation in Europe. Several students spoke about their enthusiasm for the Erasmus programme. There are eagerly looking forward to study elsewhere in Europe."

RUSSIA - OGAREV MORDAVIA STATE UNIVERSITY - 21-25 OCTOBER 2014

The Law faculty arranged the conference to look at the different legal positions of the minorities in Russia and beyond.

The work of Europe's Fundamental Rights Agency was also discussed.

UKRAINE - NATIONAL UNIVERSITY "KYIV-MOHYLA ACADEMY" - 16-17 OCTOBER 2014

Students of the Faculty of Economics were given a lecture "From Political to Economic Transformation" as well as a keynote speech on "Ukraine between the EU and the Eurasian Union: future challenges".

Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is the first Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European studies in Ukraine.

The conference was on the migrations in Europe and its potential benefits and difficulties.

The next day, the topic was "An architecture for the Europe of tomorrow".

The event was a success and the University suggested to ¨go on with the project¨.

GERMANY - UNIVERSITY OF PASSAU, JEAN-MONNET-CHAIR FOR EUROPEAN POLITICS - 25-26 JUNE 2014

The topic of the speech is "Between humanitarian responsibility and migration control: The European asylum and refugee policy in light of the civil war in Syria."

The guest speaker's area of specialisation must be International Security, European Migration Policy, Asylum and Refugee Rights and Border Management. The University is especially interested in a former member of the LIBE-Committee.

The University organised two events:

The first event was a workshop called "Participate in EP elections"

The activity was organised in the context of the 2014 elections for the European Parliament and aimed to engage secondary school students in learning about the Parliament's role and work through means of non-formal education and social media.

The second event was a lecture called: "The EU Neighbourhood Policy: Ukraine and Republic of Moldova".
