Former Members' Association (FMA) Spreading information about the European Parliament and the EU
> Homepage > About Us

Dear Visitor,

The European Parliament Former Members Association (FMA) was created in November 2001 with the support and assistance of the Parliament in order to bring together former MEPs and avail of their experience and expertise. The FMA currently has nearly 620 members and is involved in a wide range of activities including conferences, seminars, democracy building, the spreading of information about the European Parliament and the EU, through collaborations with Universities such as the EP to Campus Programme and the co-operation with the European University Institute in Florence. Most of the activities are carried out in partnership with the European Commission and other bodies.

We publish our FMA Bulletin in English, in French, in Italian, in Spanish and in German four times per year and you can find the electronic version on-line. You can also find information on some of our current activities by clicking on the link FMA Activities.

We have also published the "FMA Handbook", a useful guide providing you with more detailed information on the objectives and achievements of the association. Only the FMA members can download it in the section  FMA Handbook.

I really hope you will enjoy visiting our website. If you are a former MEP and you would like to join the FMA, please complete the  FMA Membership Application Form and return it to the FMA secretariat in Brussels.

Yours sincerely,

Hans-Gert Pöttering, FMA President
Former President of the European Parliament (2007 - 2009)
