On 4 December 2024 from 11.00 to 13.00, the FMA will organise the 2024 Annual Seminar “EU Security and Defence: Emerging Threats and Strategies for a Resilient Future” in the European Parliament, Brussels and online.
Annual Seminar 2024
Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has reshaped the EU’s approach to security and defence. This conflict has underscored the urgency of strengthening European defence capabilities and the need to address emerging threats, including cyber-attacks and the disruptive influence of new technologies.
Keynote speakers and experts will explore the strategic importance of space infrastructure for security, emphasizing the EU’s need to secure investments in critical sectors despite an austere economic environment. The seminar will also highlight the necessity of boosting the European defence industry.
The outcome of the U.S. elections will be considered, as it will impact transatlantic security cooperation and NATO dynamics. The event will serve as a forum for evaluating how these global and regional factors will shape the EU’s future strategic posture and investment priorities.
The Librorum event and Annual Seminar will be broadcast live via this webpage and interpretation will be available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
