Monica BALDI
Monica Baldi, architect and urban planner, is Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic. Deputy and Secretary of the Commission for Foreign and Community Affairs at the Chamber of Deputies from 2001 to 2006. MEP and Deputy President of the Committee for Culture, Youth, Education, Media and Sport from 1994 to 1999. She is Vice President of the European Parliament Former Members Association (FMA) and of ARS PACE. Baldi was Vice President of the Red Cross of Pistoia and President of the associations: Pinocchio di Carlo Lorenzini, Pinocchioworld, Laurus and Professional Cycling Groups League. She is speaker and promoter of conferences on: international politics, cooperation and development, culture, urban planning, environment. She has always been committed to the defence of Human Rights and in particular for the Rights of Women.
Gunnar BECK, MEP
Gunnar Beck is a German politician, academic and lawyer. He is Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and currently holds the position of deputy leader of the AfD in the European Parliament and Vice-President of the Identity and Democracy Group.
He is Member of EP’s delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Committee on Legal Affairs, the Subcommittee on Tax Matters, the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly, the Delegation to the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and a he is substitute at the Committee on Constitutional Affairs.
Sandro GOZI, MEP
Sandro Gozi is an Italian politician and a Member of the European Parliament. He was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies from 2006 to 2018 and was elected to the European Parliament in 2019, representing France on the list of Macron’s LREM, in the Renew Europe group.
He is Member of the European Parliament’s delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection and the Committee on Constitutional Affairs. In May 2021 he was elected as Secretary General of the European Democratic Party.
Klaus HÄNSCH
Klaus Hänsch is a German politician. He was a Member of the European Parliament representing the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) from 1979 until 2009, and sat with the Group of European Socialists (PES). He was President of the European Parliament from 1994 to 1997. From 1989 to 1994 and from 1997 to 2002 he was Vice-Chairman of the PES group. During his time in the EP, Hänsch served as Chairman of the European Parliament’s Delegation for relations with the United States, Coordinator for Foreign Affairs and Security of the PES-Group, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence (former Political Committee) and Member of the Committee on Institutional Affairs. He also was involved in the elaboration of the Treaty on a Constitution for Europe as Member of the Presidium of the Convention on the Future of Europe (2002-2003) and Representative of the European Parliament in the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) on the Constitutional Treaty (2003-2004).
Michiel HOOGEVEEN, MEP
Michiel Hoogeveen is a Dutch politician of the JA21 party. He has been representing this party in the European Parliament as part of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) since April 2021. He is a Member of the European Parliament’s delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs He is also Member of the Delegation for relations with the United States and substitute on the Committee on International Trade, the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality and the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula.
Hans-Gert PÖTTERING
Hans-Gert Pöttering is a German politician (CDU) and was the only Member of the European Parliament who has served continuously from the first direct election in 1979 until July 1st 2014 – with 35 years of uninterrupted membership. He held a number of leading positions in the EP and European People’s Party throughout his political career. From 1999 to 2007 he was Chairman of the European People’s Party-European Democrats Group in the European Parliament. From 2007 until 2009 he was President of the European Parliament. He initiated the House of European History which was opened in Brussels in May 2017 and he currently is the Chairman of its Board of Trustees. He was Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) from 2010 to 2018. He is now President of the European Parliament Former Members Association.
Paulo RANGEL, MEP
Paulo Rangel is a Portuguese jurist and politician of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament for the European People’s Party Group (EPP) since 2009. He is a Member of the delegation to the Conference on the Future of Europe. He is also Member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, the Delegation to the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo and he is a substitute on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Special Committee on foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union and the Delegation for relations with India.
Teresa RIERA MADURELL
Teresa Riera Madurell is Honorary Secretary of the Board of the Association of Former Members of the European Parliament (FMA). She is a Spanish politician, university professor and President of the Scientific Policy Advisory Committee of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS). She has been a professor of computer science and artificial intelligence at the University of the Balearic Islands. She was a member of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands (1987-1996). Member of the Spanish Congress (1996-2004). Member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (2000-2004): Vice-Chair of the Science and Technology Committee and General Rapporteur. Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2014: Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Research and Energy; Rapporteur for the research and innovation framework programme “Horizon 2020”, achieving a final agreement strengthening the European research and innovation system with special support for scientists and researchers. Member of the EC-RISE Advisory Group to the Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Carlos Moedas (2014-2019). She is co-author of the AAL publication “Overcoming the Pandemic”, produced in collaboration with Women 20 and supported by the Historical Archives of the European Union.
Dieter SCHLENKER
Dieter Schlenker is the Director of the Historical Archives of the European Union and Co-Director of the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Prior to taking this post in 2013, he worked for UNESCO, first as an archivist at the Paris Headquarters, then as Head of the Information and Knowledge Management Unit in Bangkok, Thailand. Previously, he worked as Records Manager at Ford Company European Headquarters in Cologne and at FAO Headquarters in Rome. He is co-author of the FMA publication “Overcoming the Pandemic”, realised in collaboration with Women 20 and the support of the Historical Archives of the European Union.
Helmut SCHOLZ, MEP
Helmut Scholz is a German politician of the Die Linke party who serves as a Member of the European Parliament for The Left group since 2009. He is Observer to the Executive Board and Member of the delegation to the Conference on the future of Europe.
He is also a Member of the Committee on International Trade, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, the Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee, the Delegation for relations with Belarus, the Delegation for relations with the United States, the Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and is a substitute on the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly and the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China.
Marc TARABELLA, MEP
Marc Tarabella is a Belgian politician and Member of the European Parliament for the French Community of Belgium with the Parti Socialiste, part of the Socialist and Democrats Group (S&D). In the EP he is Vice-Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Arab Peninsula and Member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, the Delegation to the Cariforum-EU Parliamentary Committee. He is also substitute on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China and the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
Anthony TEASDALE
Anthony Teasdale is Director General of the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), the in-house research centre and think tank of the Parliament. Teasdale is also a Visiting Professor in Practice at the European Institute of the London School of Economics (LSE).
From 2002 to 2006, Teasdale was Head of Policy Strategy and Legislative Planning for the EPP Group in the EP. From 2007 to 2012, he worked in the private offices of successive Presidents of the European Parliament – Hans-Gert Poettering and Jerzy Buzek – before becoming Director for EU Internal Policies in the Parliament’s administration in 2012 and taking up his current post the following year.
Anthony has also been a Research Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford University and Lecturer in Politics at Corpus Christi and Magdalen Colleges, Oxford University, as well as his more recent visiting roles at Columbia University and the LSE.
