Monica BALDI
Monica Baldi, architect and urban planner, is Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic. Deputy and Secretary of the Commission for Foreign and Community Affairs at the Chamber of Deputies from 2001 to 2006. MEP and Deputy President of the Committee for Culture, Youth, Education, Media and Sport from 1994 to 1999. She is Vice President of the European Parliament Former Members Association (FMA) and of ARS PACE.
Baldi was Vice President of the Red Cross of Pistoia and President of the associations: Pinocchio di Carlo Lorenzini, Pinocchioworld, Laurus and Professional Cycling Groups League. She is speaker and promoter of conferences on: international politics, cooperation and development, culture, urban planning, environment. She has always been committed to the defence of Human Rights and in particular for the Rights of Women.
Enrique BARÓN CRESPO
Enrique Barón Crespo is lawyer and economist. He held the roles of constituent deputy at the Congress of Deputies, Minister of Transports, of Tourism and Communication during the first Gonzales Government. He became President of the European Parliament in 1989 and President of FMA in 2014. He fluently speaks seven languages and he is today President of “Unión de Europeístas y Federalistas de España (UEF Spain)”. He is President of several cultural organizations, which are the “Fundación Yehudi Menuhin España” (FYME)”, “Ars Pace” and “Legado Gandarias”. Barón Crespo is also Vice-President of the “Fundación Gala-Salvador Dalí” and Chancellor of the “United Nations University for Peace”. In 2020, he was awarded with the Honoris Causa Degree from the University of Sevilla.
Alessia BETTINI
Alessia Bettini was born in Florence in 1972 and she graduated in law at the University of Florence. She is Deputy Mayor of the City of Florence and Councillor for Participation, Common Goods, Active Citizenship, Maintenance and Decorum. In 2014 she was Councillor for the Environment, Public Hygiene, Urban Decorum, Participation and Delegation to the Civil Protection at the City of Florence, a role that she held with a remarkable commitment for the Environmental issues.
Elena BONETTI
Elena Bonetti (Asola, 12 April 1974), married to Davide, mother of Tommaso and Chiara. She lives in Mantua. Associate professor of mathematical analysis at the University of Milan. She graduated in mathematics in 1997 from the University of Pavia. He received his Phd in Mathematics from the University of Milan in 2002. She collaborates with numerous Italian and international universities and research institutions. Always committed to the youth and educational world of scouting. “I consider politics as a service and will do my best to ensure equal opportunities for all and make families the pillar of the community”.
Andrea CECCOMORI
Andrea Ceccomori, multifaceted flutist, deals with classical and contemporary music collaborating with many artists all over the world, curating and performing over 200 first performances from Ludovico Einaudi to Carlo Boccadoro, from Fabrizio De Rossi to Evan Ziporyn. His influences and formations range from classical to new experimental languages, to electronics, to minimalism. He has been dedicating himself for some time to new contemporary music. He studied theology at the Theological Institute of Assisi and has held master classes at many international universities. He has recorded and composed dozens of CD titles performing all over the world and playing the whole family of flutes.
He is founder, President and artistic director of Assisi Suono Sacro, Keysound and Baton for Peace. He is Secretary of Ars Pace.
Patrick CHILD
Patrick Child holds the position of EU Commission’s Deputy Director General for Research and Innovation, a role which he obtained in April 16, 2016. He is the representative figure of the European Commission in Mission Innovation and he worked for the Government Department of HM Treasury. Before holding his actual role, Patrick Child worked for the European institutions in several areas, for instance as Head of Cabinet for the External Relations of Chris Patten, later for Benita Ferrero-Waldner, for external relations by Chris Patten and later by Benita Ferrero-Waldner; Director General of External Relations of the European Commission and Managing Director of the European External Service with reference to the financial sphere.
Marco DEL PANTA
Marco Del Panta was appointed Secretary General of the European University Institute in June 2020 and took up his position in January 2021. Before joining the EUI, Marco Del Panta was elected to the City Council and appointed as special advisor to the Mayor of Florence. A career diplomat, he served most recently as Italy’s Ambassador to Switzerland. Previously, he was Director for Migration Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served at the General Directorate for the European Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in Brussels at the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU. Previously, he held diplomatic positions in Austria and Egypt. He is author of several publications on foreign policy and on the policies of the EU, especially in the field of Research and Development.
Flavia FRANCONI
Flavia Franconi is a psychiatrist and former full professor of Pharmacology at the University of Sassari where she found the first PhD in Gender Pharmacology. She is Coordinator of the Gender Medicine Platform of the INBB Interuniversity Consortium; Consulting Member of the Steering Committee of the University Center for Studies on Gender Medicine GMC, University of Ferrara. Founder and current Honorary President of the Gender Pharmacology Group of the Italian Society of Pharmacology. Vice president of Enghea, aps. Author of over 200 publications in international journals and books of which over 60 publications on gender issues. Editor of 6 volumes.
Elvira MARASCO
Elvira Marasco is the W20 Italy Head of Delegation. Since 2018 is an Italian Delegate of the G20 Engagement Group Women 20 (W20). As a delegate, she attended the Buenos Aires and Tokyo Summits; since 2014 she is the Head of International Relations of SOLYMED Events and Representative for Italy of the Group Empresarial PALCO of Cuba (Cuba Fair Authority). From 2005 to 2020, she served as Consultant to the National President of AIDDA (Association of Women Business Managers Company) with the task of managing external and institutional relations; from 2009 to 2011 she was the Head of External Relations of AIWA (Arab Italian Women Association). Since 2014, she has a regular column in the online magazine Futuro Europa.
Lana NUSSEIBEH
Lana Nusseibeh is Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations. She served as Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiations on Security Council Reform for three sessions of the UN General Assembly from 2017 to 2020 and she also held the roles of President of the UN Women Executive Board in 2017, Co-facilitator of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Revitalization of the UN General Assembly for the 71st session of the General Assembly, and Co-facilitator for the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in 2015. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy and serves on the Advisory Board of The London School of Economics’ Middle East Centre.
Thoraya OBAID
Thoraya Obaid was the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund and an Under-Secretary General of the United Nations from 2000 to 2010. Ms. Obaid is the first Saudi Arabian woman to receive a government scholarship to a university in the United States, in 1963, and has received many awards and honours. She was ranked among the 50 Most Powerful Arab Women by Forbes magazine. Last year she chaired the W20 in Saudi Arabia.
Hans-Gert PÖTTERING
Hans-Gert Pöttering is a German politician (CDU) and was the only Member of the European Parliament who has served continuously from the first direct election in 1979 until July 1st 2014 – with 35 years of uninterrupted membership. He held a number of leading positions in the EP and European People’s Party throughout his political career. From 1999 to 2007 he was Chairman of the European People’s Party-European Democrats Group in the European Parliament. From 2007 until 2009 he was President of the European Parliament. He initiated the House of European History which was opened in Brussels in May 2017. He was Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) from 2010 to 2018.
He is now President of the European Parliament Former Members Association.
Vera REGITZ-ZAGROSEK
Vera Regitz-Zagrosek founded in 2006/7 the International Society for Gender in Medicine and coordinated multiple international research projects on sex and gender. In 2007 she founded the Berlin Institute for Gender in Medicine and implemented gender in medical education, at Charité, University Medicine Berlin. She received in 2016 the honorary doctorate from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. She served as a guest professor at Medical University Utrecht (NL) and at the University of Zürich (Switzerland). In 2018 she received the “Bundesverdienstkreuz” for her work in gender smedicine by the president of the Federal Republic of Germany. She now is integrating gender in medical education and research at University of Zürich.
Martina ROGATO
Martina Rogato is an Independent Sustainability Advisor and Contract Professor at Lumsa University in Rome and at 24ore Business School. She supported Amnesty International as a Corporate Responsibility Expert, and since 2016, she is the Co-Founder and Honorary President of Young Women Network. Martina is the Sherpa and Spokesperson of Women 20 for the 2021 G20 Presidency. In 2020, Startup Italia nominated her as one of the 1000 women changing Italy thanks to her social commitment, and she has been chosen by Pope Francis as one of the international changemakers committed to redesign a new sustainable economy. She also did a Tedx Talk at TEDxCatania in 2019.
Domènec RUIZ DEVESA
Domènec Ruiz Devesa is a Spanish politician of the Socialist Workers’ Party, and he has been elected as member of the European Parliament in 2019. He is member of both the Committee Culture and Education and Committee on Constitutional Affairs. Currently. He is lawyer, economist, and a foreign policy specialist. He writes regularly on transatlantic and European affairs in magazines, journals and newspapers. Domènec Ruiz Devesa is member of the European Parliament’s delegation to the “Conference on the future of Europe” and of the European Parliament Intergroup on LGBT rights.
Dieter SCHLENKER
Dieter Schlenker is the Director of the Historical Archives of the European Union and co-director of the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Prior to taking this post in 2013, he worked for UNESCO, first as an archivist at the Paris Headquarters, then as Head of the Information and Knowledge Management Unit in Bangkok, Thailand. Previously, he worked as Records Manager at Ford Company European Headquarters in Cologne and at FAO Headquarters in Rome.
Jessica Natalia WIDJAJA
Jessica Natalia Widjaja is the Director of International Economic and Peace Cooperation Asia-Pacific Region of Universal Peace Federation. She is the founder of The Grandeur Center International – a humanitarian diplomacy organization based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the Head Delegation of W20 Japan, Saudi Arabia, & Italy Presidency. She owns a start-up company which invented Smart City App named Ezze. And with her experience in G20 W20, she wrote a book “G20 The Golden Treasure” which published in Indonesia in 2020.
